A broadband access switch

An access switch is a network edge device that directly connects end-user hardware such as computers, IP phones, wireless access points, cameras, and IoT devices to the broader network. This white paper introduces the following three types of network switches and further discusses the selection criteria for each switch. It typically sits at the access layer, provides high port density, often delivers PoE, and forwards traffic. As key components in a network architecture, access switches are fundamental and widespread in hierarchical network design.

What is an industrial switch ring network

In an industrial ring network, switches and devices have more than one communication path. This resilience is achieved by t he redundant paths provided by the ring structure, allowing data to flow in both directions and seamlessly reroute. The ITU-T G. 8032 Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) is an open-standard layer 2 Ethernet protocol designed to detect and prevent switching loops from occurring. Each node is connected to two other nodes, forming a ring-like structure.

Packet Loss at Access Switch

Use the following commands (based on switch OS): 2. Verify Port Configuration Ensure both sides of a link have the same speed/duplex settings. It's defined as the maximal forwarding speed without loss of packets, typically measured in the form of packets each second (PPS/FPS) or bytes per second (bit/s Mbit/s, Gbit/s). It is. Where is the packet loss you see, end device side ? or gateway ? Can you post the relavant config of Cat 6504 and Cat 3850 (if the no port-channel configured) how is these 2 Links connected using Trunk ? Then that where i see the issue, is there any reason for that as trunk ? since there is Loop so.
