Voltage test on the busbar side of the switchgear

This test is to confirm the busbar joints are connected properly and verify the tightness. Measure the contact dc resistance between panels by injecting 100A DC. This. This guide provides a general overview of the inspection, testing, and maintenance techniques used on switchgear and switchboard assemblies, and their associated components. Warning: Only qualified electrical personnel familiar with the equipment, its operation, and the associated hazards should be. Major inspection should be scheduled for power plant shutdowns and concentrate for low voltage switchboards on identifying contact wear, correct operation of interlocks, correct overload settings and fuse sizes, signs of overheating, and undue dirt or corrosion. It treats switchgear not as a single unit but as what it actually is: a system of busbars, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, and cable terminations, each with its own insulation characteristics and test. Electrical testing and commissioning of Metal-Clad switchgear is essential to the safe start for the first time, regardless of its size, type or industry.
