You can set up your TP-Link router for fiber optic internet by connecting it to the ONT or fiber cable, configuring the WAN settings, and setting up your Wi-Fi through the web interface or TP-Link Tether app. Step 1: Connect the Router to the Fiber Internet SourceIf your ISP provides an Optical Network Terminal (ONT), connect an Ethernet cable from the ONT's Ethernet port to the WAN port on your TP-Link router. If your fiber service terminates directly at a fiber cable, plug the fiber optic cable into the router's WAN port (if supported) or into the ONT first, then connect the router to the ONT.

Step 2: Power On DevicesPower off your modem or ONT if it has a backup battery and remove it temporarily. Connect the router to a power source and turn it on. Power on the ONT or modem and wait a few minutes for it to initialize.

Step 3: Connect to the RouterUse a computer or mobile device to connect to the router via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi. Open a web browser and enter the router's default IP address, usually 192. 168.

Step 4: Configure Internet SettingsSelect your Internet connection type (Dynamic IP, PPPoE, or Static IP) as provided by your ISP. If using PPPoE, enter the username and password supplied by your ISP. Save the settings and test the connection to ensure the router is online.

Step 5: Set Up Wi-FiNavigate to the Wireless Settings section. Set a network name (SSID) and a strong password. Choose a secure encryption type, preferably WPA2 or WPA3.

Step 6: Configure LAN and Security (Optional)Adjust the LAN IP address and subnet mask if needed to avoid conflicts with other devices. Enable additional security features such as firewall, parental controls, or guest networks if desired. Step 7: Save and RestartAfter completing the configuration, save all changes and restart the router.

Your devices should now be able to connect to the internet via the configured Wi-Fi network. Step 8: Use TP-Link Tether App (Optional)For mobile setup, download the TP-Link Tether app on Android or iOS. The app allows you to configure the router, manage Wi-Fi settings, and monitor connected devices without using a web browser.
