The goal is to expose the internal fibers cleanly while avoiding nicks, scratches, or breakage of the delicate glass fibers inside.

Specialized fiber optic strippers are used for horizontal stripping. Key features include: Dual-blade design: Two straight blades perform horizontal cuts across the cable jacket, ensuring a clean transverse cut.
